From the ferry

I started my one week trekking from Refugio Paine Grande which means I needed to take a little ferry to get in and out. When I was heading to the trailhead I was nervous, because it was my first back-country camping trip ever in my life and I was alone. I was worried about pitching my tent, cooking my food and other unpredictable situations. However, when I saw the beautiful mountains and lakes out of the window, it makes me so excited for upcoming trip. I couldn’t wait to hike the mountains!

Lago Pehoé

While I was walking alone on the path in the forest one bird was guiding me to Lake Pehoé for a while. At least I felt like it was. The little bird was waiting for me as I followed it. It was short, but I enjoyed the having good company.

Las Torres

Reaching the Torres del Paine was not easy. I had to walk on a very narrow path on the side of a cliff, after having just had a nasty fall the previous day from winds so strong, I couldn’t control my body. I kept looking at the narrow path thinking, I’m going to fall once a gust of wind arrives. Luckily, I met Pablo who told me to trust in myself and every step I’d take. It really helped having someone say that! And I did! Which allowed me to see the Torres del Paine with a clear sky. All before it started to rain. Lucky me!

Heading to the Campsite Serón

Heading to the campsite Serón was special. I was alone and surrounded by a field of endless wild flowers, sometimes horses. It was the first time I walked for the entire day with the blossoms in bloom. I can still remember the breeze and the scent. I won’t forget that day. How I miss that moment!!

Glacier Los Perros

The last day of 2016 was sunny yet cold. I arrived at Glacier Los Perros at the end of the evening with a clear view of the beautiful Lake, Mountains and Glacier. The campsite was close, so before returning to rest, I stayed a quick moment. I wanted to engrave this view in my mind and eyes, capturing this moment on camera.

Glacier Grey and a guanaco

I spent my new year in the middle of the forest which was a nice experience.

There were two swinging bridges on the path heading to Refugio Grey from the Campsite Los Perros. On the bridge I could see the panoramic view of the glacier Grey.

¡Que Lindo!
